Gallery Art Exhibition – “Echoes of Influence: Tracing the Legacy and Evolution of Sheboygan Senior Community”

We are excited to announce an open call for artwork submissions for our upcoming gallery art exhibition at Sheboygan Senior Community (SSC). This exhibition will explore the rich history of SSC, with a focus on individuals who have made significant contributions and the evolution of the community over time.

Selected artwork will be displayed in our gallery space at SSC from August 2024 to March 2025. The exhibition will be open to SSC residents, staff, families, and the broader community, providing a platform to showcase your talent and celebrate our shared history.

Theme

A historical retrospective showcasing individuals who have left their mark at SSC and exploring the evolution of the Community.

Some examples of what your artwork could be inspired by include:
• A family member who was/is a resident of SSC • SSC’s building, landscape, or wildlife • A moment or event in SSC’s history

Artwork Display Period: August 2024 - March 2025

We invite artists, staff members, and residents to submit their artwork that reflects the theme of the exhibition. Whether it's through paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media, or other mediums, we encourage you to share your unique interpretations of SSC's history and evolution.

FAQ

Please submit a photo of your original artwork by July 19 to Life Enrichment Director Melissa Thiel at [email protected].

  • Artists may submit up to two pieces of artwork for consideration.
  • Artwork submissions, either the physical artwork or emailed photo, must be received by 5 p.m. on July 19.
  • Please ensure that all artwork submissions are accompanied by:
    1. A brief artist statement highlighting the connection to the exhibition theme.
    2. The price of your artwork if you wish to sell it.
    3. A signed Exhibition Agreement. 
  • All artwork must be original and ready for display.

To submit your artwork for consideration, please follow one of these options:
1. Email a photo of your artwork to Melissa Thiel at [email protected].
2. Arrange a drop-off time with Melissa.
3. Send your artwork via mail to the following address:
