Giving Back

Sheboygan Senior Community is proud to be a 501c3, a faith-based nonprofit. Throughout the years, generous donors helped make our growth and expansion possible. Every donation to SSC assists in retaining our workforce and provides new opportunities for our residents. Because of our donors, we are able to dream big for the future of our campus. We are in awe of the giving nature of Sheboygan County.

All donations to Sheboygan Senior Community and the SSC Foundation are tax deductible.

Further Education

Gifts designated to further education help our staff reach their career goals. We love being able to contribute to the future skilled healthcare workforce by paying our staff to go through the CNA program. For staff interested in taking their career to the next level, we are proud to provide tuition reimbursement.

Staff Awards

When you donate to staff awards, know that your gift benefits every member of our team. Part of the SSC culture is to celebrate our staff every day in every way. We do this by hosting fun events and theme weeks – especially National Nursing Home Week. Our summer picnic and holiday party are events that bring people together across every department. A donation to staff awards directly influences our culture and we couldn’t do it without you.

Grounds Enhancement

We are blessed to be on nearly 40 acres of land. Our team is always looking for new ways to bring native plants and animals to our campus. Donations to grounds enhancement helps with all of our beautification efforts – from planting trees and flowers, to creating environments conducive to a healthy ecosystem, and ensuring natural habitats are taken into account for all of our animal friends. Our grounds are constantly evolving thanks to our generous donors.

Resident Enrichment

Our residents rave about the programming put on by the Life Enrichment team. Recently, events have expanded to include Tuesday nights with local musicians and bands. We’ve been delighted by the talents of Buffalo Joe, II Cool, Buck Shot, Jim Ohlschmidt, and so many more. Gifts designated for resident enrichment help make these unique events a possibility. We are always thinking out of the box for resident events, and in many cases, we have our donors to thank.

Future Growth

Over the years, our reputation in the community has grown, leading us to a full building and an extensive waitlist. We have big dreams to continue growing our campus and furthering our ability to care for our community. Through a number of committed and generous donors, we were able to our current building off County Road Y. We are hopeful to have a groundswell of support from Sheboygan County to make our goals of future growth possible.

Celebration of Life Tree

Commemorate any occasion on our Tree of Life. Whether you are celebrating a wedding, anniversary, or other big life event, these engraved leaves greet each visitors who comes through our main entrance. Many family members choose to honor a loved one by dedicating a leaf in their memory. Whatever you wish to memorialize, the Tree of Life is a great option with incredible visibility.

Annual Giving

Donations given on an annual basis are integral to our organization. These reliable gifts help us remain the provider and employer of choice. We could not fulfil our mission of providing compassionate care promoting dignity, safety, and comfort without our faithful donors.

Memorials

Many gifts we receive are donated on behalf of a resident we cared for like family. One of the profound ways we feel appreciation is when these family members include SSC in memorial messages. We are honored to be invited into your lives and the legacy gifts left in memory of residents are some of the most impactful donations we receive.

Planned Giving

Whether it’s a donation through a charitable trust, bequest, or gift of life insurance, planned giving is a critical part of fund development at SSC. Planned giving provides us with diversified funding and long- term support. Often, these gifts allows us to plan for the future and expand upon the donor’s legacy.

Capital Campaign

As SSC continues to operate with a full census and a growing waitlist, we know growth is in our future. We are actively working with architects, running financials, and creating the next steps for additional assisted living on our 38.5-acre campus. To make this expansion possible, we will rely on the philanthropic nature of Sheboygan County. We will be launching our campaign in the coming months.
