Sheboygan Senior Community: Redefining Senior Living

Since 1962, Sheboygan Senior Community (SSC) has been more than a care facility. We are a nonprofit, mission-driven home rooted in Sheboygan values. SSC provides a continuum of care where aging is honored, dignity is upheld, and residents are surrounded by a team that feels like family.

Here, every person deserves to age with safety, joy, and connection. As Sheboygan County’s only award-winning nonprofit senior care provider, we reinvest every dollar back into resident care and community well-being. We are proud to combine compassion with excellence, offering skilled nursing, short-term rehab, and assisted living under one roof.

Our Pillars of Excellence

Our Commitment: Meeting the Challenge with Excellence

Sheboygan Senior Community is uniquely positioned to meet Sheboygan County’s growing senior living needs with compassion and excellence. Our facility has earned its reputation as the gold standard of care in our region. Recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a “Best Nursing Home” and consistently ranked a 5-Star facility, SSC offers an approach that goes beyond industry standards.

Community

Continuum of Care: From short-term rehab to skilled nursing to assisted living, residents can stay under one roof as their needs change without the stress of moving facilities.

Employment

Zero-Agency Staffing: Unlike most facilities, SSC does not rely on temporary contract staff. Our caregivers are permanent team members who know our residents by name, history, and heart. This means faster response times, more consistent care, and deeper relationships.

Environment

Resident Experience: Our 40-acre campus was designed for wellness and joy with art shows, live music, gardening, fishing off our ADA-accessible pier, and community spaces filled with natural light.

Community Outreach

Community Enrichment: giving back isn’t something we do, It’s who we are. We proudly support a variety of charitable causes and nonprofit partners.

At SSC, we do not just provide care, we create community. By investing in our people and our place, we are redefining what senior living looks like in Sheboygan County.

Paul Treffert

Paul Treffert has been part of the SSC team since February 2016.

Why he loves working at SSC:

SSC represents everything that I have always thought was possible in long-term care but had never found anywhere else:  a beautiful setting, a ‘state of the art’ facility, all private rooms, and most importantly, the very best senior care and services provided by an outstanding team of dedicated caregivers.  What else could you ask for?

Names of family members and pets:

Rachel, Emily, Dagan, Ali, and Buddy the dog.

One favorite thing about Sheboygan County:

My favorite thing about Sheboygan County is that it is big and dynamic enough to have great quality of life (restaurants, entertainment, parks, etc) but still feels like a small town where everyone knows and looks out for each other.
