Paul Treffert’s, Executive Director of Sheboygan Senior Community, official statement on the article appearing in the Sheboygan Press on January 24, 2018 –
We’d like to thank McLean Bennett for the coverage in this morning’s Sheboygan Press. We have been very pleasantly surprised and grateful for the groundswell of support we have received since the City Finance Committee rejected our request for consideration at Monday’s meeting.
Of course we remain hopeful that we can work can find an amicable solution to what is obviously a very unusual set of circumstances for all concerned. We are extremely proud of our legacy of caring for Sheboygan seniors for over 50 years, serving as the only faith-based, non-profit skilled nursing provider in the city since we were founded by members of St. Luke’s Church in 1962. We continue to have strong ties to Landmark Square, Founder’s Club, and the entire community, so we are confident that the city leaders will want to do the right thing.
We will continue to keep everyone posted as events unfold. Thank you for your concern and ongoing support of the residents and staff of Sheboygan Senior Community.

I think that the City of Sheboygan should work with SSC to resolve the issue .The fire was something that was not caused by SSC and no way at fault.SSC should not be punished for that one year delay in the building project .Good faith should be used to settle the issue .
